Fundamental Principles of Biology Workshop

On December 14-15, 2015, the Center for Quantitative Biology, thanks to funding from the Army Research Office, will be hosting a workshop entitled "Mathematics and the Quest for Fundamental Principles of Biology" at the University Guest House on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Twenty renowned and deep thinkers will join for discussions to begin outlining and writing a white paper to think broadly about the role of mathematics and theory in the future of the biological sciences. The purview is broad, ranging from behavior and evolution to physiology and molecular biology, with the goal of finding unifying principles that work across the full range of spatial and temporal scales in the life sciences.
